Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Bidhannagar Commissionerate launched a crackdown on illegal roadside parking in Salt Lake, targeting vehicles parked in no-parking zones from Island No. 4 to CAP Island. The drive, which began at 11:30 AM, involved Bidhannagar Traffic Police removing vehicles and registering cases against violators. Officials confirmed that legal action is being taken as per traffic laws.
DC Traffic Neema Norbu Bhutia stated that unauthorized parking, especially by outsiders, has become a persistent issue, leading to congestion at major intersections. “People from outside come to Salt Lake and leave their vehicles in no-parking zones. Parking at intersections is a major problem,” she said. Police have intensified monitoring, and strict enforcement will continue to prevent violations.
Authorities have urged motorists to use designated parking spaces to avoid penalties. The drive is part of an ongoing effort to enforce traffic rules in Bidhannagar, with officials focusing on keeping no-parking zones clear. Residents and commuters have been advised to follow parking regulations as enforcement measures continue.
